You know some things have to be said. I genuinely believe Evil Dead 2 to be the greatest movie ever made.
I'm not joking.
I thought about this a while back and tried to decide by what criteria I should consider a 'greatest movie ever made'. Beyond liking it I decided that a movie had to achieve it's aims better than anything else. And ED2 just gets everything right from one end to the other. Anything that is 'wrong' with that film is just of so little relevance that it just doesn't register. I mean, who cares if you can see the rod holding up the flying eyeball or that the Henrietta suit has a massive tear in it. It all just holds together despite it's flaws. And what it gets right is as right as it gets.
I'm not saying it's necessarily my favourite movie (though it's right up there) but I do consider it the greatest movie ever made.
So, thank you Sam. Now stop making Spider Man movies....
